Miami Hurricanes Florida State rivalry still top 10 nationally with prediction
Mike Farrell of Rivals.Com ranks the Miami Hurricanes Florida State rivalry as the seventh-best nationally entering the 2021 season. Miami enters the 2021 season with a four-game winning streak against Florida State. A Hurricanes 2017 win at Tallahassee that ended seven straight losses to the Seminoles.
When Miami was winning national championships playing Florida State annually had an impact on the national polls. From 1987 through 1993 both Miami and Florida State were ranked in the top 10 when the two teams played. Between 1978 and 2006 at least one of the two teams was ranked when they played.
The Miami Hurricanes lead the all-time series 15-11 when both teams are ranked, 10-4-0 when both teams are in the top 10 and have won all seven games against Florida State when they are ranked and the Seminoles are not. Florida State holds a 9-2-0 record against unranked Miami when they are ranked.
With three more wins against the rebuilding Seminoles, Miami would tie the seven straight wins Florida State had prior to the current Miami streak for the longest in the series. Miami has not lost in Tallahassee since 2015. Miami plays at Florida State on November 13. The Hurricanes should be a prohibitive favorite in 2021.

A 27-17 Miami victory would probably be closer than Miami fans expect after the last two years. The Hurricanes won 27-10 in 2019 before the historic victory last season. Miami held Florida State under 20 points in 2019 for the first time since a 13-10 loss in 2006.

Last season was also the first time Miami held FSU under 20 points since a five-game streak with the Seminoles scoring less than 20 ended in 2006. Miami enters the 2021 season leading the all-time series against Florida State with 33-30. Miami at North Carolina will be the more critical ACC game in 2021.
