1. Capitalize on Alabama’s Mistakes
Every team is going to make mistakes on the football field. Some more than others, but turnovers, dropped passes, and coverage mistakes are inevitable, especially in the first week of a new season.  For Miami, they MUST make the most of those mistakes.

Alabama is consistently one of the most fundamentally sound teams in the country, so the mistakes they make are going to be scarce. When they do make a mistake, the Miami Hurricanes have to respond positively.

A TD after a fumble, a third-down stop after a drop on second and long, or any other aspect of football that the Tide doesn’t make work.

2. Take Care of the Football

The Miami Hurricanes need to respond positively to Alabama’s mistakes as well as limit mistakes of their own. The Crimson Tide will make you pay whenever they have the chance and Nick Saban is never afraid of running up the score early.  This game most likely will not be a blowout in favor of Miami, so limiting turnovers will be a key.

If Alabama gets momentum early, it is going to be a long afternoon for the Hurricanes. Miami getting off to a good start will be critical. The Hurricanes’ poor starts against Clemson, North Carolina and Oklahoma State in 2020 led to their only three losses of the season.
