Miami football top transfer for each 2021 FBS opponent

89. Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia (from Oklahoma State)

Woods had 31 receptions for 361 yards and four touchdowns in three seasons at Oklahoma State before transferring to Virginia during the 2021 offseason. Woods had one reception for five yards in the Cavaliers’ 43-0 victory over William and Mary in the season. Alabama TE Cameron Latu had three receptions for 43 yards and two TDs.

14. Ty Chandler RB, North Carolina (from Tennessee): “Experienced running back with the speed to get to the outside in North Carolina’s wide-open offensive attack that just sent two RBs to the NFL. Chandler is the latest UNC RB to go against the Miami defense who allowed 554 rushing yards to the Tar Heels in 2020.

Chandler was a star for four years at Tennessee before crossing the border to North Carolina. In four years with the Volunteers, Chandler had 2,112 rushing yards and 13 TDs, 59 receptions for 474 yards and three TDs and had 780 yards and one TD on kick returns. The Miami run defense will be challenged.

65. Derrek Pitts, S, NC State (from Marshall)

Pitts is another transfer at his third school. Transferring to North Carolina State, Pitts will be playing his college football outside West Virginia. Pitts began his college career at West Virginia before playing the last two seasons for Marshall. Pitts had 82 tackles, eight tackles for loss and seven pass breakups the last four seasons.
