Miami football versus Central Connecticut State: Game, broadcast and injury info
Throw out the records when the Miami football team hosts Central Connecticut State for the first time on Saturday. Miami needs to focus on itself and correct multiple problems that have arose in a shaky 1-2 start. The Hurricanes are a late Andres Borregales field goal against Appalachian State from starting 0-3.
Several lineup changes are likely to occur for Saturday. The Hurricanes announced this week that left guard Jalen Rivers is out for the season. Ousmane Traore is listed behind Rivers on the depth chart. Miami could shuffle the offensive line to move someone else to LG. That could include taking Jakai Clark out of a potential redshirt.
The other lineup change for Saturday will likely be at quarterback. D’Eriq King is extremely doubtful to play against Central Connecticut State according to head coach Manny Diaz. Second-year freshman Tyler Van Dyke has taken most of the second-team snaps in training camp and through last week.
During this week of practice, Van Dyke and true freshman Jake Garcia have shared the first-team snaps according to Diaz. Both are expected to receive extensive playing time on Saturday. Miami has to win comfortably against Central Connecticut State. The Hurricanes need to use Saturday’s game to build momentum.
