In a tweet posted on Wednesday, former Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Lance Leggett asked if current Florida Atlantic quarterback and former Hurricane N’Kosi Perry is the best in Florida. Perry transferred to FAU during the 2021 offseason. There are seven FBS programs in Florida to answer Leggett’s question.

Leggett played for the Miami Hurricanes from 2004-2007. In 45 career games, Leggett had 85 receptions for 1,375 yards and 11 touchdowns. Leggett had his best season as a junior in 2006 with 38 receptions for 584 yards and four TDs and added four tackles.

Perry has completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 1,278 yards, 10 TDs and one interception with 35 carries for 80 yards and three TDs. Throughout his collegiate career, Perry has struggled with accuracy. In 29 career games in college, Perry has completed just 54.5 percent of his pass attempts.

The 59.9 percent completion rate this season is the highest of Perry’s career. FAU has played Florida, Georgia Southern, Fordham, Air Force and the Shula Bowl against FIU. Perry had the best game of his career in the Shula Bowl. FIU allowed Perry to go 18-21 for 329 yards with three TDs and no interceptions.

Perry added four carries for 16 yards and a TD and one reception for 11 yards. Perry struggled against Air Force going 11-33 for 78 yards no TDs and one interception with seven carries for 53 yards and one TD in the loss to the Falcons. FAU lost at Florida in the opener and defeated Georgia Southern, FIU and Fordham.
