The fourth loss in six games by the Miami football team in 2021 is turning up the heat on Hurricanes head coach Manny Diaz. If Miami decides to make a change between now and the end of the season they will have a lot of competition for a new head coach. LSU and USC are among the open jobs for the 2022 season.

Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated reported on Sunday that head coach Ed Orgeron and LSU reached an agreement that he will not return in 2022. Several tweets with the hashtag #CoachOtotheU emerged after the report about Orgeron was posted by Dellenger. Orgeron is one of several coaches Miami is unlikely to hire.

Everything went right when Orgeron led LSU to the first 15-0 record and a National Championship in 2019. The Tigers lost defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and passing game coordinator Joe Brady after the 2019 season. LSU is 9-8 since the beginning of the 2020 season. Orgeron has a 65-44 career record.

With the majority of Miami football fans on social media pushing for a change, everyone has an opinion on who should replace Diaz. Almost all fans mention high-profile names as the next Miami head coach. There are several coaches on that list who are not good fits for Miami or are not likely to be hired by the Hurricanes.

Scandal-ridden coaches, coaches who have not been as successful as their overall records indicate or that are not just not good fits for Miami have been buzzing on social media. The completion with the Tigers, Trojans, potentially Nebraska and some other Power Five programs could make this a busy offseason for hiring head coaches.
