A tweet from injured Hurricanes cornerback Al Blades Jr. following their win at Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday night shows North Carolina State trolling the Miami football team. Wolfpack wide receiver Thayer Thomas threw up The U apparently after one of the two touchdowns he scored in the second quarter.

Thomas had seven receptions for 71 yards in a 31-30 North Carolina State loss to the Miami football team. Miami and true freshman safety Kamren Kinchens had the last word against Thomas and the Wolfpack. Kinchens tackled Thomas two yards short of the first down on fourth and eight late in the fourth quarter.

The turnover on downs caused by the open-field tackle by Kinchens gave the ball back to Miami with 2:49 remaining. A 21-yard completion from Miami second-year freshman quarterback Tyler Van Dyke to fourth-year junior Will Mallory on third and 16 clinched the win for Miami. Miami ran out the clock from there.

The trend of trolling the other team in college football has become frequent. NC State also reportedly flashed the U sign upside down. Similar occurrences have happened with Big XII teams flashing the Texas hook em’ horns upside down. The Big XII has instituted a rule that upside-down Hook ’em Horns will result in a taunting penalty.
