The Miami football team will travel to number 17/19 Pittsburgh with a chance to upset a ranked team for the second straight week. Miami has never defeated a ranked opponent in consecutive weeks as an unranked team. The Hurricanes’ last three games have been decided by a total of six points.

Pittsburgh is the third most frequent opponent in Miami football history behind Florida State and Florida. Miami leads the all-time series, 28-11-1. Pittsburgh has a 3-2 record against when they are ranked and Miami is unranked. The Hurricanes are 13-6 in Pittsburgh and 6-1 at Heinz Field.

The Miami football team has won five of the last six against Pittsburgh. The one loss for Miami against Pittsburgh since 2015 was at Heinz Field in 2017. Miami entered the game the day after Thanksgiving 10-0 and second in the College Football Playoff rankings. Pittsburgh entered the game 4-7 in 2017.

The Panthers upset the Hurricanes in 2017 by holding them to 232 yards of offense in a 24-14 victory. Miami has avenged those losses with wins the last three seasons against Pittsburgh. A win in Heinz Field this season by Miami would be close to the upset Pittsburgh pulled in 2017.
