The Miami Hurricanes offense has continued to develop throughout the season. Miami is averaging 473.5 yards over its past four games. Following a 586 yard outburst in a 59-3 victory over UMass last month, Florida State has combined for 512 yards in losses to Clemson and North Carolina State the last two weeks.

The Miami Hurricanes offense has needed time to adjust to the change at quarterback from D’Eriq King to Tyler Van Dyke. In wins over North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech in the last three games, Van Dyke is averaging 285 yards per game with 10 touchdowns and one interception.

Miami has become efficient and explosive offensively with Van Dyke at quarterback. Van Dyke is tied for second nationally with eight completions of 50 yards or more despite playing fewer games than those as highly ranked as he is. Van Dyke has developed a rapport with Miami wide receiver Charleston Rambo.

Rambo is among the most explosive WRs nationally with nine receptions of 30 yards or more, ranking ninth nationally. The return of running back Jaylan Knighton has also been critical. Knighton has over 160 total yards in three of the last four Miami games. He had 91 against Pittsburgh in his lowest recent outing.

Florida State QB Jordan Travis is not likely to beat the Miami Hurricanes passing. The season-high for Travis came last week with 176 passing yards, two TDs and no interceptions. Travis can put pressure on a defense running. Travis ran for over 100 yards in Florida State wins over Syracuse and North Carolina.

As a team, Florida State has not topped 250 yards in any game this season. Van Dyke had over 200 yards passing in the first quarter against Pittsburgh two weeks ago. Florida State does have five games over 200 yards rushing and had 196 in a loss to FCS Jacksonville State. Miami is likely to give up rushing yards to FSU.

Florida State RB Jashaun Corbin has 747 rushing yards on 6.9 yards per carry with six TDs. Corbin is a minimal threat in the passing game with 19 receptions for 90 yards and one TD. Clemson and NC State shut down the Florida State run the last two weeks. FSU combined for 103 yards, averaging 1.68 yards per carry in those games.

Next. Miami bowl eligible with win and eliminates FSU from postseason. dark

McKenzie Milton started for FSU at QB against NC State and threw for 233 yards and one TD. Travis is expected to start against Miami. If the Hurricanes have any level of success stopping Florida State running, the game could be a lot easier than expected. Miami should be able to score against FSU.
