The Miami football program honored 23 seniors on Saturday night before their 38-26 victory over Virginia Tech. Some of the seniors who took part in the pre-game ceremony will return for the 2022 season. None have made their intentions publically yet. Expect those decisions in the next few weeks and after the season ends.

Some seniors have made their intentions public. Other seniors have implied they are leaving after this season. Tight end Will Mallory announced earlier this season that he will return for a fifth season with the Miami football program in 2022. Mallory did not participate in Senior Day on Saturday.

Quarterback D’Eriq King who is in his sixth season of college football but could petition for a medical redshirt announced earlier this season that he is moving on following the season. King played in three games this year before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against Michigan State.

Players can play in up to four games and still use a redshirt. King would have had to petition for a seventh season due to injury. Miami had seven players participate in Senior Day who are in their last season of eligibility. Offensive lineman Jarrid Williams who transferred from Houston with King is in his seventh year in college.

Others players who participated in Senior Day who are out of eligibility are defensive linemen Jon Ford, Deandre Johnson and Zach McCloud, offensive lineman Navaughn Donaldson and striker Amari Carter. Fourteen Miami players who participated in Senior Day have eligibility remaining.
