Neither Frierson nor Ivey have made their intentions known following the season. Third-year sophomore Tyrique Stevenson is eligible for the 2022 NFL Draft and seems likely to leave following a solid season. That would create an opening for Ivey to compete to be a starter in 2022.

With Carter exhausting his eligibility, Frierson would be the favorite to start at striker. It will be a busy offseason for the Miami football program.

A new athletic director is to be determined who will have the fate of Miami football coach Manny Diaz in their hands. The Hurricanes currently have only eight 2022 commits.

College football programs can sign up to 25 players per class. Programs can add up to an additional seven beyond the 25 for each transfer that is lost. Miami has lost at least five players to transfer during the season. That number will be expected to grow into the offseason. Several players have their own decisions to make.

Expect the defensive and offensive lines and linebacker to be the priority to add to the Miami football roster in the transfer portal. The time between now and the end of the college football playoffs in January should see a proliferation of players entering the transfer portal. Miami needs to be successful in adding transfers for 2022.
