Graham Harrell

The shocking poaching of Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma by USC likely means Graham Harrell will move on from the Trojans for 2022.

Harrell led a Trojans offense that was 24th averaging 447.1 yards per game in 2021. USC was not able to translate those numbers into points averaging 30.0 points per game that were 54th nationally. Prior to becoming a coach, Harrell was a record-setting QB at Texas Tech playing for Mike Leach.

Harrell played three seasons for the Green Bay Packers. Leach hired Harrell for his first full-time coaching as the outside receivers coach at Washington State in 2014-14. Harrell was first an offensive coordinator at North Texas in 2016-18. Harrell helped North Texas improve significantly offensively in his first season in 2016.

The Mean Green were in the bottom 25 nationally in scoring, total yards and passing in 2016. North Texas improved top 26 in points, total yards and passing during his first two seasons. Harrell left North Texas for USC. Harrell has been the Trojans offensive coordinator since 2019.

Highly regarded as one of the best offensive minds in college football, the 36-year-old Harrell would be the perfect replacement for Lashlee. Harrell would be a perfect fit for a young Miami offense that can potentially put up bigger numbers in 2021
