Miami Hurricanes legendary quarterback Ken Dorsey would reportedly be interested in being head coach if Manny Diaz is fired according to Dave Hyde of the Sun-Sentinel. Dorsey is currently the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Buffalo Bills. In 2019 and 2020 Dorsey solely held the title of QB coach.

Buffalo is currently seventh in the NFL averaging 271.0 passing yards per game, 13th averaging 7.4 yards per attempt and third in the NFL averaging 2.3 passing touchdowns per game. Under the tutelage of Dorsey, Bills QB Josh Allen finished second in the 2020 MVP voting to Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.

Dorsey was the QB coach of the Carolina Panthers in 2015 when they reached Super Bowl 50. Cam Newton won the MVP that season after being mentored by Dorsey. Dorsey was the QBs coach with Carolina from 2013 through 2017. In his year off from the NFL in 2018, Dorsey was the assistant director of athletics at FIU.

Dorsey was hired by Buffalo as QB coach in February 2019. As a player at Miami, Dorsey still holds the Miami TD passing record with 86 and is second with 9,565 passing yards from 1992 through 2002. Dorsey led Miami to the 2001 National Championship and second place finishes nationally after the 2000 and 2002 seasons.

Miami will be an attractive destination for any offensive-minded coach if the Hurricanes move on from Diaz. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke who was named the ACC Rookie and Offensive Rookie of the Year on Wednesday returns for 2022. Miami also returns most of their offensive skill positions players.

Former Miami offensive lineman who was a national champion with the Hurricanes in 1989 and 1991 and is currently the head coach at Oregon is considered the leading candidate if a change is made at head coach. Mississippi head coach Lane Kiffin is the projected second choice if Cristobal fell through.
