A week in the life of a Miami Hurricanes Fan
It had to be Cristobal or why make the change at all? That opinion was less than popular but in the end, I am thrilled. We got him! This was not the silky smooth process we would have all preferred.
In the era of social media where everything is instant and everyone has “sources,” I’m not sure this could have played out any differently.
This was one of the greatest weeks in Miami Hurricanes athletics history. The University absolutely got it right. It’s been over 20 years since I drove down to Coral Gables and been on campus twice in one week but what a week it was.
A great Canes basketball win against Clemson (while trying to see if maybe their AD was coming to Miami) and the opportunity to attend the press conference of Mario Cristobol being introduced as our head coach. The energy and excitement in that room were nothing short of outstanding.
I am glad to have a quiet, restful weekend. I can’t imagine how all of the people involved in this process must feel. Probably exhausted and relieved because as a fan I am absolutely exhausted. Now I can’t wait to see what this team can do and what direction we’re going to head in but it’s looking very bright and sunny South Florida.
