The Miami football program has gained late momentum in their 2022 recruiting class with the hiring of Mario Cristobal as head coach last week. Miami entered Early National Signing Day with the 57th ranked class. The Hurricanes’ final ranking should trend much higher than that when all their prospects sign.

Miami is not expected to finalize its 2022 class until traditional National Signing Day on February 2. Several high-level prospects that are considering Miami are waiting until February to sign. Miami picked up a commitment from four-star linebacker Wesley Bissainthe last Saturday.

Four-star defensive end Nyjalik Kelly is expected to sign with Miami on Wednesday. Kelly will announce his college destination live at 2:00 PM eastern time. If Kelly signs with Miami he would become the Hurricanes current highest-rated 2022 signee. Miami is also pursuing five-star defensive end, Shemar Stewart.

Stewart will sign in February. Miami is also expected to be extremely active in the transfer portal. Cristobal has been busy since he was hired as the new Miami football head coach last week. With Cristobal leading the Miami football program, the Hurricanes are expected to return to becoming a recruiting force in South Florida.

Early Signing Day Tracker & Live Updates for Miami football

The first Miami football signees to the Class of 2022 are in. Four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown was the first official Miami football signee, getting his National Letter of Intent in just before 8:00 AM ET. Brown is the 245th ranked player and 17th QB in 2022 according to 247 Sports. Brown is from Valdosta, Georgia.

Four-star cornerback Chris Graves was next. Graves is one of two elite CBs expected to sign with Miami during the Early National Signing period. Four-star CB Khamauri Rogers from Lexington, Mississippi will ink his LOI later today. Graves is a cousin and former high school teammate of current Miami CB Malik Curtis.

Four-star WR Isaiah Horton gives Miami size at 6’3, 190 pounds. Horton is the only receiver committed to Miami entering Early National Signing Day. Miami is deep at WR with seven players returning in 2022. Cristobal and his staff are working on four-star WR Kevin Coleman from St. Louis.

Four-star safety Markeith Williams is officially a Miami football player. Williams is the 287th ranked player, 26th ranked safety and 35th in Florida. Williams joins a strong Miami safety corps. Miami also learned on Wednesday that offensive tackle Falentha Carswell flipped to Mississippi.

Four-star linebacker Wesley Bissainthe is the newest signee for the Miami football program. Bissainthe committed to Miami on Saturday. Bissainthe is a key addition to a Hurricanes LB corps that needs an upgrade in talent and production. The Miami central star is expected to be the second-highest-rated player in Miami 2022.

Miami added their second elite CB in the Class of 2022 with four-star Khamauri Rogers making his signing with the Hurricanes official. Rogers is currently the highest-ranked Miami commit. The Mississippi prep star is the 103rd ranked player, 14th rated CB and third in Magnolia State. Rogers is expected to finish second in the Miami class.

Three-star CB Jalen Harris is the first addition to the 2022 Miami signing class attributed to Mario Cristobal. Harris was previously uncommitted. The other Miami signees on Wednesday through Harris signing were committed to the Hurricanes before Cristobal was hired as head coach. Harris is the 84th ranked CB nationally.

The 2022 Miami football class added their highest-rated signee on Early National Signing Day when four-star defensive end Nyjalik Kelly from Fort Lauderdale Dillard signed a National Letter of Intent with the Hurricanes. Kelly is the 84th ranked player, 13th ranked defensive lineman and 12 rated player in Florida for 2022.
