The Miami football team is trending late for the Saturday announcement for four-star defensive end Cyrus Moss. Four-star wide receiver Kevin Coleman and Moss are expected to commit to Miami on Saturday. To paraphrase Mark Twain, the allegations about the death of the 2022 Miami recruiting class are greatly exaggerated.

Commitments from Coleman and Moss would vault the Miami football program from 48th in the recruiting rankings to 21st. Miami can move into the top 20 with a commitment from any of the other several prospects they are recruiting. Coleman and Moss would be the two highest-ranked players in Miami’s 2022 signing class.

The two currently highest-rated players in the 2022 Miami class are defensive end Nyjalik Kelly and tight end Jaleel Skinner who did not pledge to Miami until after Mario Cristobal was hired last month. Cristobal has quickly turned around what was the worst Miami recruiting class ever by a wide margin.

Moss has five crystal balls from 247 Sports projecting him to commit to Miami on Saturday. Two of those crystal balls come from national recruiting analysts and a third is from the Mountain Region Recruiting analyst. Rivals.Com projects that Moss will sign with Miami at 75 percent.

Miami is beginning to build a pipeline to Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. Moss would join former Miami players, quarterback Tate Martell, safety Bubba Bolden and tight end Brevin Jordan from Bishop Gorman. Bolden and Jordan were openly

Moss is the 63rd ranked player, sixth-ranked edge rusher and second-ranked player in Nevada in the class of 2022. Kelly and Moss would provide Miami an outstanding pair of bookend edge rushers in the class of 2022 in a position Miami needs to add depth. Next Miami will continue to recruit five-star DE Shermar Stewart.

With Kelly, Moss and returning 2021 five-star defensive tackle Leonard Taylor, Miami is building an outstanding defensive line. The Hurricanes should make news on Saturday at the Army All-American bowl with expected commitments from Coleman and Moss. Cristobal has quickly made a huge impact in recruiting.
