Miami football making late Shemar Stewart push with Mario Cristobal
Led by head coach Mario Cristobal, the Miami football program is making a late push for five-star defensive end Shemar Stewart. Multiple reports stated that Stewart had a positive unofficial visit with Miami this weekend. Stewart has taken multiple visits with the Miami football program, but not his official visit yet.
With just over two weeks until National Signing Day, Stewart is expected to take his official visit to Miami the weekend of January 28. Stewart is the ninth-ranked player, third defensive lineman and number one in Florida in the Class of 2022 according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Stewart is the top 2022 uncommitted player.
Miami currently has defensive ends Nyjalik Kelly and Cyrus Moss in the Class of 2022 and added DL Jacob Lichtenstein as a transfer from USC. Stewart would be a game-changer for the 2022 Miami class. Miami currently has the 36th ranked class overall and fifth in the ACC after the Early Signing Period.
Multiple recruiting websites still have Texas A&M trending at various levels for Stewart. Miami is making a late push because of hiring Cristobal. The atmosphere for the Miami football program has changed with Cristobal. Stewart seems to have changed his opinion of Miami after the visit this weekend as told to On3.Com.

Cristobal and the Miami football staff have been meticulous and not wasted any time recruiting Stewart. When the dead period in recruiting last week Cristobal and several Miami staff members visited Stewart shortly after midnight. Cristobal is living up to his reputation as a tireless recruiter.
Stewart will take his official visit to Georgia this weekend. Georgia, Miami and Texas A&M are the three finalists for Stewart with just over two weeks remaining until he signs. Miami has added three top 100 players to its 2022 Class since Cristobal was hired. Stewart would be the highest-ranked player for Miami in 2022.
