The Miami football program is trending for four-star guard Dave Iuli. Three crystal balls from 247 Sports project Iuli to sign with Miami. Iuli would be the first offensive linemen committed to and sign with Miami in the Class of 2022. The 2022 Miami Class would move from 38th to 27th with the addition of Iuli.
Iuli has received crystal balls from 247 Sports National Recruiting Expert Brandon Huffman, Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U and Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. New Miami head coach Mario Cristobal had a previous relationship with Iuli. Iuli was committed to Oregon before Cristobal left for Miami.
Iuli is the 187th ranked player, 10th interior OL and third in Washington in the Class of 2022. Miami received a commitment from Oregon transfer OL Logan Sagapolu on Wednesday. Miami returns center Jakai Clark, OL D.J. Scaife and tackle Zion Nelson as starters from 2021. Iuli and Sagapolu add depth on the Miami OL.
The scouting report on Iuli from Huffman praises his mobility and versatility. At 6’5, 315 pounds, Iuli has the athleticism to pull. Huffman projects Iuli as a multi-year Power Five starter. In addition to Miami, Iuli was still strongly considering Oregon after a visit with Cristobal’s successor Dan Lanning, Oregon State and USC.
Miami can sell Iuli for the chance to play as a freshman. Over the past five seasons,
, Clark, Nelson and Scaife have all started on the Miami OL as true freshmen. The Miami OL is in transition with Cristobal as the new head coach and Alex Mirabal following him from Oregon as the OL coach.
Cristobal and Mirabal will give Miami a national footprint recruiting nationally. Their experience at Oregon provides them with a presence in the Pacific Northwest. Iuli is from Puyallup, Washington near Tacoma. Miami is also recruiting five-star OL Josh Conerly from Seattle. Conerly is next expected to sign until at least March.
