The Miami basketball team hosts Notre Dame on Wednesday night in a game between the first and third-place teams in the ACC. Miami is tied with Duke for first place in the ACC at 8-2. The Hurricanes own the tiebreaker after winning in Durham last month. Notre Dame is tied for third in the ACC with North Carolina at 7-3.

Miami enters the game on Wednesday night after wins at Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech last week. Notre Dame lost 57-43 against Duke on Monday night. The Fighting Irish will be playing their third game in five days. Miami has been off since their victory at Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Despite a 16-5 overall record, Miami continues to be unranked in both polls. Miami and Notre Dame were among the teams outside the Top 25 but who received votes this week. The Hurricanes return home for the first time since January 22 when they lost 61-60 to Florida State.

Miami has been the surprise team in the ACC. The Hurricanes were picked to finish 12th in the ACC this season. Only a pair of one-point losses to Florida State has kept Miami from being 10-0 in conference play. Two of the three ACC losses for Notre Dame have been by double digits this season.
