Miami football could lead for 2 5-star 2023 prospects with Josh Gattis hire
The hiring of offensive coordinator Josh Gattis from Michigan by the Miami football program on Sunday will make the Hurricanes the hard to beat for five-stars, wide receiver Jalen Brown and put them in a good place for quarterback Dante Moore according to Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports. Miami is slowly putting its staff together.
The Hurricanes currently have three-star WRs Andy Jean and Lamar Seymore committed to the Class of 2023. Brown is the third-highest prospect on the Miami list according to 247 Sports. The 247 Sports composite rankings have Brown as the 33rd ranked player, fifth WR and ninth player in Florida in 2023.
Moore, out of Detroit is the seventh player, third QB and number one in Michigan in the Class of 2023. The hiring of Gattis should provide the Miami football program with a presence in the Midwest. Brown is currently warm on Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Penn State according to 247.
There are five top 100 players at WR in Florida in the Class of 2023. Three of those WRs are from South Florida, Brandon Inniss from American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale is the top WR in the Class of 2023, Brown is from Gulliver Prep and four-star Hykeem Williams is the 11th ranked WR from Stranahan in Fort Lauderdale.
