Miami football 2022 NFL Draft early entrants and transfer roster tracker
The Miami football program has added five transfers since Mario Cristobal was hired as head coach in December. Miami lost three players as early entrants to the NFL Draft and nine who have transferred to other schools. The majority of the transfers from Miami did so before Cristobal was hired.
Several Miami starters who lost their jobs during the 2021 season are among the Hurricanes who chose to transfer to other schools. The 2022 Miami signing class had nine commits shortly before Early National Signing Day when Cristobal was hired in December. Miami has signed 14 players in the Class of 2022.
Cristobal and his staff have done an exceptional job adding talent to the Miami roster. The Hurricanes have added five transfers in addition to the five new players signed as part of the Class of 2022. During National Signing Day earlier this month, Cristobal said Miami might not be done adding players for 2022.
With nine former Miami players entering the transfer portal, the Hurricanes can add up to two more incoming transfers to their roster. The NCAA allows up to seven transfers not counting against a team’s roster if they lose a half dozen players plus one. All but one of the Miami transfers have found new destinations.

After teams conclude spring practice in March and April there is frequently more movement into the transfer portal. Expect LB to be a position that Cristobal and the Miami football staff look into if the Hurricanes add more players. Miami has significantly improved depth in other areas with the five above transfer additions.
As the offseason continues this will be a space where updates will be posted. Miami has been one of the busiest programs since the transfer portal was created in 2018 as a space for athletes to place their names for opportunities at a new school. All of the transfers Miami added for 2022 are likely to contribute.
