The Miami basketball team will conclude the regular season at Syracuse on Saturday after clinching a double-bye in the ACC Tournament with the win over Boston College on Wednesday. Miami can finish as high as third in the ACC if they win at Syracuse and North Carolina loses later in the day at Duke.
The Tar Heels have a one-game lead in the ACC over the Hurricanes. Miami owns the tiebreaker after an 85-57 victory over North Carolina in January at the Watsco Center. Syracuse is locked into the eight versus nine game in the ACC Tournament. The Orange will open the ACC Tournament on Wednesday at Noon ET.
Miami will begin ACC play on Thursday. When the Hurricanes’ play will be determined by the outcomes on Saturday. Miami will not find out who they will play until the results of the second round of the ACC Tournament. Syracuse enters the game on Saturday with three straight losses.
The Orange had an outside shot to go on a run at the end of the season for an NCAA Tournament berth. Syracuse has had losses to the top three teams in the ACC in the losing streak, Notre Dame, Duke and North Carolina. The Tar Heels needed overtime on Monday to defeat the Orange. Miami has won five of its last seven.

Syracuse owned the rivalry with Miami early winning eight of the first nine meetings. Miami and Syracuse have split the last 10 games they have played. Miami had to overcome an 18 point first-half deficit in January at the Watsco Center to defeat Syracuse. The Hurricanes need a good start on Saturday.

Expect a much lower scoring game on Saturday. The last four Syracuse game has exceeded the over. Prior to that their last three went under and the trio of games before that were over. The Syracuse zone defense is tough to match up against. Scoring could be difficult for Miami in the Carrier Dome.
