The Miami basketball team will be the fourth seed in the ACC Tournament after North Carolina upset Duke 94-81 on Saturday night. Miami put pressure on North Carolina to earn the third seed after Miami had an epic 75-72 comeback win at Syracuse on Saturday. Miami clinched the fourth seed on Wednesday night.

The victory by the Miami basketball team at Boston College assured that Miami would have a double-bye to the ACC Tournament quarterfinals. Miami will play its first game on Thursday at 2:30 PM ET against either Boston College, Pittsburgh, or Wake Forest. The Eagles and Panthers play in the first round on Tuesday afternoon.

The winner between Boston College and Pittsburgh will play Wake Forest on Wednesday at 2:30. Miami defeated Boston College and Pittsburgh in each game the Hurricanes played the Eagles and Panthers this season. The Hurricanes swept the Demon Deacons in two games during the 2021-22 season.

Miami will enter the ACC Tournament with six wins in its last eight games. The Hurricanes closed the season with five straight road wins. Those two losses came at home to Virginia and Virginia Tech. Closing the season strong has surely clinched an NCAA Tournament berth for Miami. Miami has its first double-bye since 2018.

Boston College finished the season with three straight losses. The Eagles lost 82-78 at Georgia Tech in the regular-season finale on Saturday. Boston College is 11-20 overall and finished 6-14 tied with Pittsburgh in the ACC. Pittsburgh won the tiebreaker for 12th. The Eagles and Panthers split the season series.

Pittsburgh finished the season with an 11-20 overall record and 6-14 in the ACC. The Panthers enter the ACC Tournament with four straight losses and defeats in eight of its last 11. Notre Dame defeated Pittsburgh 78-54 to end the season on Saturday. Pittsburgh last won 76-67 at North Carolina on February 16.

Wake Forest finished 23-8 overall and 13-7 in the ACC. The Demon Deacons finished their regular season with wins over North Carolina State and Louisville in the last two games. Wake Forest had lost three of four games prior to that stretch. The Demon Deacons were the sole ACC team off on Saturday.

A quarterfinal win on Thursday would help Miami improve its seed in the NCAA Tournament. A run deep in the ACC Tournament would be an even stronger statement to the NCAA Tournament committee. Prior to Saturday Miami was projected to be between an eighth and 11 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
