Three-star wide receiver Andy Jean de-committed from the Miami football program on Friday. In a note posted to Twitter, Jean thanked Miami head coach Mario Cristobal, stated Miami is still one of his top schools, but that his recruitment is 100 percent open. Miami is recruiting multiple WRs higher ranked than Jean.

Jean is the 454th ranked player, 58th ranked WR and 77th in Florida in the Class of 2023 per the 247 Sports composite rankings. According to On3, Miami and Rutgers are the co-favorites to receive a commitment from Jean at 37.9 percent each. Jean is listed at a 48 percent chance to sign with the Miami football program by Rivals.Com.

Miami is ranked highly for three WRs ranked significantly higher than Jean. The Hurricanes have an excellent chance of gaining commitments from five-star WR Jalen Brown and four-star Hykeem Williams. Miami is projected with a 55 percent chance to receive a commitment from Brown by On3.

Rivals does not project who Brown which program Brown will commit to. Miami has one crystal ball projecting they will receive a commitment from Brown via 247 Sports. Miami is the significant favorite to receive a commitment from Williams by 247 Sports and On3. On3 lists Miami at 48.4 percent to receive a Williams commitment.

Miami has three crystal ball projections to receive a commitment for Williams from 247 Sports. The most recent crystal ball that projects Williams to sign with Miami is from 247 Florida State expert Josh Newberg. Rivals also does not have a projection on Williams. FIve-star WR Brandon Inniss is the third WR to watch for Miami.

Miami is in the top five for Inniss but a long shot to sign the five-star WR from American Heritage. USC is a significant favorite to sign with USC by 247 Sports and On3. Rivals has not updated their projections since Inniss de-committed from Oklahoma following Lincoln Riley leaving the Sooners for USC.

Jean could still sign with Miami. The Hurricanes also have long time commit Lamar Seymore in their 2023 class at WR. If Miami receives commitments from Brown and Williams the potential of losing Jean from the class if he commits to another program would be minimal. Jean committed to previous Miami WR coach Bryan McClendon.

After working with Cristobal at Oregon, McClendon joined the Miami staff. The tenure for McClendon at Miami was shortlived with him leaving for his alma mater Georgia. Jean committed the night before McClendon announced his departure. Offensive coordinator and WR coach Josh Gattis will be the new primary WR recruiter.
