The Miami football program 2023 class moved into the top 20 with commitments from Bobby and Robby Washington on Thursday night. Robby becomes the second four-star player committed to Miami in the Class of 2023. The Hurricanes also have a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Antonio Tripp.

Robby is the 181st player, 14th athlete and 32nd in Florida in the Class of 2023 in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Bobby is the 58th best linebacker and 97th in Florida for 2023 according to 247. Miami gained the commitment from the Washingtons over Alabama, Georgia, Florida State and Miami.

The move up to 19th overall places the 2023 Miami class third in the ACC behind Louisville and Florida State extremely early in the process. Louisville has seven commits for 2023, Florida State five and Miami four. Only USC with three commits and the 14th rated class nationally is ahead of Miami with less committed players.

Robby told 247 Sports they chose Miami because of the attention the Hurricanes’ staff paid attention to himself and Bobby. Miami is getting a versatile player with Robby. In the past two seasons, Robby Washington has 709 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns with 38 receptions for 770 yards and another 11 TDs.

Robby has added another 742 return yards. Bobby produced beyond his three-star status. In 10 games as a junior in 2021, Bobby had 128 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and three sacks. Miami adds an elite athlete in Robby and fills a position of need at LB with Bobby. The commitment from Robby makes up for the loss of WR Andy Jean.
