Miami Hurricanes running back Henry Parrish has been receiving a lot of the first-team snaps this spring with Don Chaney Jr. and Jaylan Knighton out with injuries. Parrish transferred to Miami from Mississippi joining new Hurricanes RBs coach Kevin Smith. The Tribune News Service recently named Parrish an ACC Transfer to Watch.

Parrish was the 227th ranked player, 18th RB and 27th in Florida in the Class of 2020 out of Christopher Columbus High School. August training camp will be competitive primarily between Chaney, Knighton and Parrish to be the first team Miami RB in 2022. Parrish provides Miami with versatility in the backfield.

After injuries to starter Cam’Ron Harris and Chaney left Knighton as the primary RB last season, Miami will have more depth in the backfield in 2022. Miami has sophomores Cody Brown and Thad Franklin returning in 2022 and signed four-star RB TreVonte Citizen. Parrish should be a big part of the Miami rebuild.

Miami is stacking local talent at RB. All but Brown and Citizen of the RBs currently on the Miami roster are from South Florida. It will be a challenge for head coach Mario Cristobal, offensive coordinator Josh Gattis and Smith to find enough touches for each of the Miami Hurricanes RBs during the 2022 season.

"Henry Parrish Jr., RB, Miami“Parrish was among the top tailback transfer targets when he entered the portal after two seasons at Ole Miss, where he finished with 1,048 all-purpose yards. He was fourth on the team in rushing (553 yards) and sixth in receptions (21).The four-star product returns home to South Florida, where he joins a Miami roster that returns three of its top rushers led by Jaylan Knighton (561 yards).”"

Parrish is the 17th best transfer RB entering 2022 according to the On3.Com rankings. Miami has been successful in adding transfers with their most recent coaching staffs. Under Cristobal, Miami should continue adding transfers to upgrade the depth and talent on their roster. Cristobal has proven adept as a recruiter.

Next. Miami likely adding Oregon OL Jonathan Dennis. dark

Franklin helped Miami at the end of the 2021 season helping close games for Miami to provide relief for Knighton. Each of the Miami RBs brings different skill sets. Franklin provides Miami with more size and a downhill runner. The versatility Parrish has being healthy this spring might make him the favorite to start week one.
