Miami football standing with 2023 quarterbacks
The Miami football program is still continuing to recruit 2023 quarterbacks. Thirty-two of the top 50 quarterbacks on the 2023 On3.Com rankings have committed. Miami has a good future at QB with returning starter Tyler VanDyke, 2021 signee Jake Garcia and 2022 signee Jacurri Brown. Signing a 2023 QB is the next goal.
The two highest ranked 2023 QBs most strongly considering Miami are fourth-ranked Dante Moore and seventh-ranked Jaden Rashada. Miami is listed with a 4.5 percent chance to gain a commitment from Moore according to On3. Miami is listed with a 31.8 percent chance to gain a commitment from Rashada.
Oregon leads for Rashada at 44.7 percent. Mario Cristobal had a relationship with Rashada when he was at Oregon. Notre Dame is the leader for Moore. Miami is in the mix with LSU and Oregon among others for Moore. Chad Simmons, the Director of Recruiting for On3 three said that he never felt Moore was a lock for Notre Dame.
Moore is very connected to the Notre Dame staff including head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Simmons said Miami is very much involved with Moore. Rashada has had a more fluid recruitment. According to Jeremy Crabtree of On3, three weeks ago Mississippi was the leader for Rashada.
Oregon took over as the leader 10 days ago, but the Ducks’ lead has shrunk by 4.6 percent since then. Mississippi has since received a commitment at QB and appears to be out of Rashada’s recruitment. LSU received a visit from Rashada on Monday and he recently received an offer from Texas A&M.
Miami offensive coordinator Josh Gattis is leading the recruitment for Rashada. Gattis has an established relationship with Moore that began as the OC at Michigan for the Detroit-based prospect. Moore has taken two visits to Miami since he was offered in December. Rashada has one visit to Miami.
The Miami football program initially offered Moore in February. Miami has offered 13 2023 QBs. Seven of the QBs Miami offered are committed to other programs. A lot will fluctuate between now and the December Early National Signing Day. Some new names will likely emerge after the summer 7-on-7 circuit concludes.
