Nose tackle Jonathan Ford was the only Miami football player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. Miami wide receiver Charleston Rambo who was 212th on the NFL Consensus Mock Draft database big board and safety Bubba Bolden who was 237th both went undrafted. This was the worst draft for Miami since 1980.

Ford was selected 234th overall in the seventh round by the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay also selected Georgia defensive tackle Devonte Walker with the 28th overall pick in the first round. Ford will have a difficult challenge to make the Packers roster. The opportunity could be there to make the practice squad.

Bolden, Rambo and the other Miami undrafted players have a more uncertain future. Many of the Miami undrafted players will be signed as free agents. The Miami Herald is reporting where the Hurricanes’ undrafted free agents are signing. Rambo has reportedly signed with the Carolina Panthers.

Wide receiver Mike Harley will join former Miami tight end David Njoku with the Cleveland Browns. Former Miami QB D’Eriq King who is being projected as a WR in the NFL has signed with the New England Patriots. The UFA will be updated throughout the next few days. Defensive end Zach McCloud signed with Minnesota.

Other Miami football players to watch as UFAs are defensive back Amari Carter and offensive linemen, Navaughn Donaldson and Jarrid Williams. The players were undrafted for various reasons. Only Bolden and Rambo among the undrafted Miami players were projected on mock draft boards.

Ford was a surprising pick of the Packers. Finding the right fit and system will be critical for the UFAs. The ability to play special teams will also be important. Former Miami running back Travis Homer has had an excellent career with the Seattle Seahawks as an important contributor on special teams.
