Miami football first three game times announced including Texas AM primetime
The first three 2022 Miami football games have been announced. Miami will open the season by hosting Bethune-Cookman at 3:30 p.m on the ACC Network. In week two Miami will host Southern Mississippi at noon on the ACC Network. Miami will play its first road game at Texas A&M in week three at 9 PM on ESPN.
The Hurricanes game at the Aggies kickoff time could be pushed back that night. Mississippi State plays at LSU at a 6 PM on ESPN prior to Miami and Texas A&M. Miami returns home to conclude non-conference play against Middle Tennessee State on September 24. The MTSU kickoff will be announced later.
Miami leads the all-time series with Texas A&M 2-1. The Hurricanes won the most recent games in 2007 and 2008. Miami will be playing Middle Tennessee State and Southern Mississippi for the first time. The last time Bethune-Cookman and Miami played was in 2019 in a game that was the first win for Manny Diaz.
The entire 2022 Miami football schedule will be played on Saturdays. Miami is at Clemson on November 19. That is the game most likely on the remainder of the Miami football schedule to be played in primetime. Miami opens ACC play against North Carolina on October 8 following a bye week.
The remainder of the 2022 Miami football schedule is October 15 at Virginia Tech, October 22 versus Duke, October 29 at Virginia, November 5 against Florida State November 12 at Georgia Tech and November 26 against Pittsburgh. Miami has an entirely new non-conference schedule in 2022 from their 2021 opponents.
This could be the last season the ACC plays with divisions. The NCAA ruled earlier this month that divisions are not required to play conference championship games. Miami was second in the ACC Coastal Division in 2021 with a 7-5 record overall and 5-3 in the ACC. Miami gave ACC Champion Pittsburgh its only 2021 loss.
The Hurricanes will be seeking to avenge losses to Florida State, North Carolina and Virginia. With all three games at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami should be favored versus FSU, UNC and UVA in 2022. In the inaugural season with Mario Cristobal as the head coach, Miami should receive a lot of attention nationally.
