Miami football longshot as finalist for 5-star edge Nyckoles Harbor
The Miami football program is a longshot as a finalist for five-star Washington D.C. Archbishop Carroll 2023 edge rusher Nyckoles Harbor. Miami was named one of seven finalists for Harbor with Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, South Carolina, and USC are in the top seven for Harbor.
According to On3.Com, Maryland leads for Harbor with a 27.6 percent chance to sign him. Michigan is the second favorite at 21.0 percent, followed by several programs that were not named finalists. Among the finalists, USC is the next closest behind Michigan at 8.1 percent, and Georgia and LSU are at 3.6 percent.
Harbor received his scholarship offer from Miami under the old coaching staff in September 2021 but has not visited Miami yet. At 6’6, 225 pounds, Harbor is another defensive lineman that Miami is recruiting with length. Miami signed 6’6, 220-pound four-star edge rusher Cyrus Moss in the Class of 2022.
Harbor spoke to On3 about all seven of his finalists. Since Mario Cristobal was hired, the entire staff has been recruiting Harbor the hardest. It appears that Harbor has spoken to Pro Football Hall of Famers Ed Reed and Jason Taylor regarding his recruitment. the Miami football program only has five commits for 2022.

A primary recruiter is not listed for Miami by 247 Sports. Cristobal and his staff have clearly made a difference in recruiting. Nearly every prospect Miami is recruiting has stated they see a difference since Cristobal was hired in December. Despite his size, Harbor excels as a world-class sprinter per Brian Dohn of 247 Sports.
Harbor ran 10.38 in the 100 meters. The On3 and 247 Sports composite rankings have Harbor in the top 15 players in the country. Harbor is the 11th player, second edge rusher and first in Washington D.C. in the Class of 2023. Per 247, Harbor is 12th, first and first.
