The return of rising fourth-year junior guard Isaiah Wong should make the Miami basketball program a 2022-23 preseason top 25 team. Wong tweeted the announcement of his return on Wednesday morning. Wong leads Miami returnees averaging 15.3 points per game during the 2021-22 season.

Kansas State transfer Nijel Pack and Wong should provide Miami with one of the best backcourts in college basketball in 2022-23. Packer averaged 17.4 PPG, made 43.6 percent of his three-point attempts, 84.5 percent of his free throws and averaged 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists to earn first-team All-Big XII in 2021-22.

Miami also returns 2021-22 starter, wing Jordan Miller and adds Sun Belt Player of the Year, post Norchard Omier from Arkansas State. Miller averaged 10.0 PPG, 5.9 RPG and shot 56.1 percent from the field last season. Omier averaged 17.9 PPG, 12.2 RPG and shot 63.1 percent from the floor during the 2021-22 season.

Miller, Omier, Pack and Wong with rising fourth-year junior Anthony Walker are the projected starting lineup for Miami next season. If head coach Jim Larranaga wants to continue with a perimeter-oriented lineup, rising fourth-year sophomore Harlond Beverly could replace Walker as a starter.
