The Miami football team is the projected leader for three-star wide receiver William Fowles after he named his top six on Friday morning. Fowles named Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi and Texas A&M as his finalists with Miami on Friday. On3 projects Miami with a  64.7 percent chance to sign Fowles.

Fowles is the 432nd ranked player, 61st WR and 77th in Florida in the Class of 2023 per the On3 consensus rankings. Auburn, Florida, Michigan State South Florida and Tennessee were dropped from the original eight finalists for Fowles. FSU, Mississippi and Texas A&M are the only original programs from the eight initial finalists.

Fowles had 36 receptions for 807 yards and nine touchdowns for Dade Christian as a junior last season. Per On3 Fowles is taking an unofficial visit with Miami this weekend. This is the first visit by Fowles with the current Miami football staff on the Coral Gables campus. Fowles doesn’t have other visits scheduled per 247 Sports.

Four-star Robby Washington and three-star Lamar Seymour are the current 2023 Miami commits at that position. At 6’2, 189 pounds, Fowles has excellent size at WR. Miami currently has nine WRs on scholarship. The Hurricanes signed four-star WR Isaiah Horton in the Class of 2022 and added Clemson transfer, Frank Ladson.

Several other 2023 WRs are considering Miami. Three-star Andy Jean who was formerly committed to Miami is still considering the Hurricanes. Five-star wideouts Jalen Brown and Brandon Inniss are names to watch with Miami. Miami is the leader for Brown and more of a longshot for Inniss.

Next. Miami in good place for 4-star CB Damari Brown. dark

Miami has the 32nd ranked class for 2023. With June opening up to official visits, the Hurricanes could potentially receive a few commits in the next month. With Mario Cristobal having a full year in the recruiting cycle, Miami is expected to sign a top 10 class. Miami finished with the 16th best 2022 composite class.
