The decision by four-star 2023 linebacker Tony Rojas to withdraw his visit to the Miami football program this weekend is not likely to have a big impact on their class. Both Crystal Balls from 247 Sports project Rojas to sign with Penn State. On3.Com projects Penn State with a 94.3 percent chance for a commitment from Rojas.

Rojas previously named Clemson, Georgia, Miami and Penn State as his four finalists. Miami is hosting about a half dozen recruits this weekend. Rojas was the only LB scheduled to take an official visit to Miami this weekend. Four-star Orlando Jones LB Malik Bryant is scheduled to visit Miami the weekend of June 24.

Four-star Pittsburgh Brashear LB Ta’Mere Robinson visited the Miami football program last weekend. Penn State is also the projected favorite for a commitment from Robinson at 93.7 percent per On3. The recruitment for Bryant is more wide open with Alabama the projected leader at 33.3 percent.

Miami has offered scholarships to 24 LBs in the 2023 Class per 247 Sports. Two of those LBs are strongly considering Miami. That does not include three-star LB Bobby Washington who has already committed to the Hurricanes. Four-star Wesley Bissainthe was the only LB Miami signed in the 2022 class.

Bryant and Killian’s Stanquan Clark are the two 2023 LBs strongly considering Miami. Rojas is the 149th ranked player, 10th LB and third in Virginia in the Class of 2023. Four-star wide receiver Robby Washington, the brother of Bobby is the highest ranked commit in the 2023 Miami class. Washington is 149th overall.

The tweet announcing he will not take the visit to Miami this weekend is the only information Rojas has given regarding his decision. Miami has 16 remaining official visitors scheduled throughout June after Rojas withdrew his visit. Players are permitted to take official visits through June 26.

The NCAA will go back into a dead period beginning June 27. Miami should start gaining more commits when the recruiting visits conclude near the end of June. The Hurricanes currently have the 34th ranked 2023 class per On3. On3 ranked the 2022 Miami class 12th. Miami finished with the best 2022 Class in the ACC.
