Miami football hosts six 2023 line of scrimmage recruits this weekend

The Miami football program hosts two defensive linemen, two interior offensive linemen and two tight ends in the Class of 2023 this weekend. This sets up as the second busiest weekend of official visits for Miami this month. Included in the recruits taking official visits this weekend is Miami offensive line commit Antonio Tripp.

Tripp is one of two OL committed to the 2023 Miami football class. Three-star offensive tackle Frankie Tinilau is the other 2023 OL committed to the five-man Miami class. Tripp is the 439th ranked player, 29th interior OL and eighth in Maryland in the Class of 2023 as a three-star prospect.

Connor Lew is another three-star IOL visiting Miami this weekend. Lew is the 717th player, 50th IOL and 66th in Georgia in the Class of 2023. With Mario Cristobal as the new Miami head coach, the Hurricanes have been the line of scrimmage a priority since he was hired in December. Miami has added four new OL since December.

Defensive linemen David Hicks and Sydir Mitchell are the only blue-chip prospects taking official visits with Miami this weekend. Hicks is the fifth-ranked player, top DL and number one prospect in Texas as a five-star recruit in the Class of 2023. Four-star DL Mitchell is the 283rd player, 40th DL and fourth in New Jersey for 2023.

Also visiting Miami this weekend are three-star tight ends Jackson Carver and Reid Mikeska. Carver is the 672nd player, 31st TE and the third player in Connecticut in the Class of 2023. Mikeska is 526th, 27th and the 89th ranked player in Texas for 2023. Hicks and Mikeska are the two most strongly considering Miami.

Miami is one of six programs Hicks is strong considering per his 247 Sports profile. On3 lists Texas A&M as the favorite to receive a commitment from Hicks at 59.3 percent. Oklahoma is second at 35.7 percent. After Oklahoma, a projected commitment from Hicks drops off precipitously to Miami with a 1.1 percent chance.

Clemson leads for Mikeska per 247 Sports and On3. The 247 Sports crystal ball projections list Clemson with a 90.3 percent chance for a commitment from Mikeska. On3 projects Mikeska to commit to Clemson at 78.3 percent. Miami has work to do this weekend with only Tripp expected to eventually sign with Miami.
