Five-star 2023 quarterback Jaden Rashada repeatedly praised the coaching staff for the Miami football program as part of an interview with Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports. Wiltfong examined “5-star QB Jaden Rashada in the process of trimming his list to one school.” Miami does not have a QB commit for 2023.

Rashada is the 45th ranked player, seventh QB and fifth in California in the 247 Sports composite rankings. Rashada is a four-star prospect in the 247 Sports rankings but was mentioned as five-star by Wiltfong. There are no 247 Sports crystal balls currently projecting where Rashada will commit.

The On3.Com projections currently have Miami third in their projections which program will receive a commitment from Rashada. Florida is listed as the leader with a 26.1 percent chance for a commitment from Rashada, Texas A&M is second at 22.3 and Miami third at 18.1. The recruitment of Rashada is wide open.

Oregon at 13 percent and LSU at 11.9 percent make it five programs with a better than 10 percent chance for a commitment from Rashada. Wiltfong quotes Rashada discussing head coach Mario Cristobal, offensive coordinator Josh Gattis and QB coach Frank Ponce. Rashada does not have an official visit to Miami scheduled.

"“Coach Cristobal, beautiful place, tons of history. Coach Cristobal he’s a grinder. If you look at what he’s done, he’s had success. Rose Bowls, I think he played a big part in what Oregon was doing over recent years. The relationship with Coach Ponce, they hired Gattis who was the (Broyles Award winner) assistant coach of the year.He was a heck of a coordinator. I think Miami is poised to make a run. If you look at what they’re doing in the portal and if you look at what they’re doing just recruiting, I have no doubt that program is going to be contending for the ACC.”"

The Miami football program added 11 transfers during the 2022 offseason and signed the 13th-best freshman class that was primarily attributable to Cristobal. Rashada has a chance to be a cornerstone 2023 Miami commit. The California prospect would be the highest-ranked player to commit to Miami.

dark. Next. Miami 10th in 5-year 247 Sports development rankings

Rashada would also be the highest-rated QB on the projected 2023 Miami roster ahead of 2021 signee Jake Garcia. Miami signed four-star QB Jacurri Brown in the 2022 class. With another big season, Miami is expected to lose starting QB Tyler Van Dyke after the 2022 season. Miami hopes to get Rashada for an official visit.
