Miami football recruitment for 5-Star WR Jalen Brown heating up

The recruitment of Five-Star wide receiver Jalen Brown has recently become more competitive for the Miami football program. Miami has the only two crystal balls from 247 Sports projecting which program will receive a commitment from Brown. LSU, Georgia and Miami lead for Brown in the On3.Com projections.

Brown is projected with a 32.3 percent chance to commit to LSU, Georgia is projected with a 28.3 chance for Brown and the Miami football program is third at 22.3 percent. Brown is rated as the 18th best player, third WR and fifth in Florida in the Class of 2023. The 247 Sports rankings are 29th, fourth and eighth.

Miami currently has four-star WR Robby Washington and three-star Lamar Seymour committed for 2023. Five-star prospect Brandon Inniss, three-star former Miami commit Andy Jean and junior college WR Colbie Young are also considering the Hurricanes. Miami is also working on flipping Clemson commit Nathaniel Joseph.

Brown would be the highest-rated 2023 Miami commit. Washington who is the 172nd ranked player, 15th WR and 33rd in Florida is currently the highest rated 2023 Miami commit. Brown has official visits scheduled for LSU the weekend of June 17 and Michigan beginning June 24. No information about other visits is available.

High school prospects are permitted to take up to five official visits. Seymour visited Central Florida last weekend and will visit Pittsburgh this coming weekend. Young is scheduled to take his official visit to Miami on Monday per 247 Sports. Young is the only WR scheduled to take an official visit to Miami this month per 247 Sports.

Longtime South Florida recruiting analyst Larry Blustein told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald that Brown is leaning towards Miami. Miami offensive coordinator Josh Gattis who is also the Hurricanes’ WRs coach is leading the Hurricanes’ recruitment for Brown. Miami projects to take three or four WRs in the 2023 Class.
