Miami football trending for Clemson de-commit WR Nathaniel Joseph
Following his de-commitment from Clemson, four-star Miami Edison wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph is trending to the Miami football program. Joseph was committed to Clemson since September 10, 2021. The new Miami coaching staff has been strongly recruiting Joseph. The previous staff reportedly didn’t recruit Joseph.
Joseph announced his de-commitment from Clemson via Twitter on Tuesday. Following the de-commitment, Joseph received a crystal ball to Miami from Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports and is projected to commit to Miami at 86.9 percent on On3.Com. Joseph is taking his official visit to Miami the weekend of June 24.
Joseph is rated the 105th player, 16th WR and 31st in Florida in the Class of 2023 via the 247 Sports composite rankings. At 5’8, 170 pounds, Joseph could be the successor as the Miami slot receiver to Xavier Restrepo and Brashad Smith. Joseph had 33 receptions for 632 yards and five touchdowns last season.
Joseph has an official visit scheduled to Louisville this weekend. Texas A&M is also reportedly strongly recruiting Joseph. Former Miami offensive coordinator and Miami Senior High School quarterback James Coley is leading the recruitment of Joseph for Texas A&M. Josh Gattis is leading the Miami recruitment of Joseph.
Part of the reason behind Joseph de-commiting from Clemson is the policy Dabo Swinney has not allowing commits to take visits to other schools. Joseph can reopen his recruitment and look at other programs. Miami currently has four-star Robby Washington and three-star Lamar Seymour committed for 2023 at WR.
The expectation is that Joseph will announce his college decision before the beginning of the Edison season. Miami currently has the 43rd ranked recruiting class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. The Hurricanes signed a top 15 class in 2022. Mario Cristobal is regarded as one of the nation’s best recruiters.
Joseph would be the highest ranked commit in the 2023 Miami class. Washington is currently the highest ranked Miami commit. Washington is the 171st ranked player and 15th ranked athlete. The Miami football program should receive commitments throughout the summer after a busy June of official visits.
