The Miami football program is expected to receive an official visit from four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada sometime this week. There are conflicting reports if Rashada will visit during the week or this weekend. Chad Simmons of On3 reported that Rashada will begin his visit to Coral Gables on Tuesday.

Per Simmons, the visit from Rashada could last as long as Thursday. A pair of reports from 247 Sports state Rashada is visiting this weekend. The visit from Rashada comes after the Pittsburg, California prospect delayed his commitment from June 18 to the 26. The Miami football program is one of five finalists for Rashada.

Florida, LSU, Mississippi and Texas A&M are the other four finalists to receive a commitment from Rashada. The On3.com predicition machine projects Florida has a 46.6 percent chance to receive a commitment from Rashada. Texas A&M is second at 18.5 percent and Miami third at 14.9.

Rashada ranks as the 42nd player overall, seventh QB and fourth in California in the Class of 2023 per the On3.Com consensus rankings. Miami has yet to receive a QB commit in the Class of 2023. The Hurricanes are trending for three-star QB Emory Williams. A decision by Williams could be influenced by other QBs.

Rashada previously took official visits to Florida, LSU, Mississippi and Oregon. The official announcment of the commitment by Rashada will be aired by CB Sports HQ at a time to be determined on Sunday. Rashada threw for 2,220 yards, 27 touchdowns and five interceptions with 193 rushing yards last season.

At 6’4, 185 pounds, Rashada has ideal size at QB. The 247 Sports scouting report from Chris Singletary states that Rashada has good accuracy on his throws, a quick release and the mobility to avoid pressure. Rashada would become the highest ranked commit to the 2023 Miami Class as a borderline five-star prospect.

Rashada is one of four of the top 10 QBs in the country not committed for 2023. Miami signed Jacurri Brown in 2022 who was the 17th ranked QB in the class. Brown was impressive this spring behind returning Miami starting QB Tyler Van Dyke and primary backup Jake Garcia who was a 2021 Hurricanes’ signee.
