The Miami football program was named as one of three finalists for four-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson. Robinson is the 127th ranked player, eighth LB and third in Pennsylvania out of Pittsburgh Brashear. Penn State and Virginia Tech are the other two finalists for Robinson. Robinson will announce his collegiate destination on July 15. Penn State has a 92.3 percent chance for a commitment from Robinson per the On3 prediction machine. Robinson has taken official visits with Miami, Penn State and Virginia Tech this month. Miami already has a commitment from three-star LB Bobby Washington.

Miami had the first official visit from Robinson the weekend of June 2, followed by Virginia Tech June 10 and Penn State June 17. Miami is competing with former head coach Manny Diaz who is one of the two lead recruiters for Robinson. There is not a lead recruiter for Robinson specified for the Miami football program.

Three-star prospect Bobby Washington is currently the only LB committed to Miami for 2022. Four-star signee Wesley Bissainthe was the only LB Miami signed in 2022. Four-star prospect Malik Bryant who is visiting this weekend is the only other LB who is visiting Miami this month. Johnson and Waymon Steed are the only Miami LBs whose eligibility will expire following the 2022 season. Miami could lose other LBs to the transfer portal with the new staff hired during the 2022 offseason.

The Hurricanes have lost three LBs since the beginning of last season. That includes former starter Bradley Jennings Jr. who is now at Indiana.
