Four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada trending to Miami football
Ahead of his commitment announcement on Sunday, five-star quarterback Jaden Rashada is trending to the Miami football program. All five crystal balls trending for Rashada from 247 Sports that were logged on Thursday afternoon project that the Pittsburg, California prospect will commit to Miami.
Greg Biggins, Brandon Huffman, Cooper Petagna and Steve Wiltfong, all national writers for 247 Sports and Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U each logged crystal balls on Thursday predicting that Rashada will commit to Miami. Rashada would be the second QB in the Class of 2023 for the Miami football program.
Three-star QB Emory Williams committed to Miami last week. Rashada took official visits to Florida, LSU and Texas A&M this month before concluding his official visit to Miami earlier this week. Rashada and Williams would join at QB room that projects to be lead by Jake Garcia and Jacurri Brown in 2023.
Returning starter Tyler Van Dyke is projected to leave for the NFL following the 2022 season. Rashada is the 45th ranked player, seventh QB and fifth in California in the Class of 2023. Miami has a long history of success with QBs from California led by Ken Dorsey, Brad Kaaya and Gino Torretta.
Florida is still a program to watch when Rashada announces his commitment on Sunday. On3.Com and Rivals both project Florida as the favorites for Rashada. Those projections were made before the 247 Crystal Balls were logged on Thursday. The next 10 days could significantly boost the 2023 Miami recruiting class.
In addition to Rashada’s commitment on Sunday, top edge rusher Jaxon Howard and the nation’s second ranked tight end Riley Williams will announced their collegiate destinations on July 1. Williams is currently trending to Miami. Commitments from Rashada and Williams would move Miami from the 42nd to 18th recruiting class.
Rashada would give Miami a top 20 QB in the class for the fourth straight year and top 10 in three of the last four classes. Jacurri Brown who signed with Miami in 2022 ranked 17th. Tyler Van Dyke was the seventh ranked QB in 2020 and Jake Garcia was the eighth ranked signal caller in 2021.
