Four-star legacy defensive lineman Reuben Bain is steadily trending to commit to the Miami football program. Bain is the nephew of Miami alum and current football staff member Tolbert. All seven crystal balls for Bain from 247 Sports are trending to Miami. The last three crystal balls were logged in June.

Bain has visited the Miami football program seven times. Coming off a weekend visit to Alabama, Bain picked up another projection that he will commit to Miami. In addition to the official visit to Alabama this weekend, Bain also visited Auburn the weekend of June 10. No official visit is currently scheduled to Miami.

Several high-profile Miami prospects are making their commitment announcements between now and July 1. None of the seven commits to Miami are on the defensive line. Three-star linebacker Bobby Washington is the only defensive player committed to Miami in the Class of 2023. That could change in the next week.

Bain is the 196th ranked player, 29th DL and 39th in Florida in the Class of 2023. If he commits to Miami Bain would be the second-highest ranked prospect in the 2023 Miami class. Four-star athlete Robby Washington who Miami projects as a wide receiver and is the brother of Bobby is the highest-ranked 2023 Miami commit.

Bain is an edge rusher at Miami Central but could eventually move inside in college. At 6’2, 250 pounds, Bain has room to fill out more. Bain had 53 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks as a junior. Mario Cristobal has quickly rebuilt the Miami DL since being hired in December. Bain would be a key signee in 2023.

Miami signed three DL in the Class of 2022 and added five more as transfers. Under Cristobal, signing players on the line of scrimmage will be a priority. Miami also signed two offensive linemen and added two more as transfers during the 2022 offseason. Cristobal will help attract linemen to Miami.
