Four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada denied a report by On3.Com that he accpeted a $9.5 million name, image and likeness deal with Miami booster John Ruiz to commit to the Hurricanes. The same report stated that Rashada turned down $11 million to commit to Florida. The report about the NIL deal has been continually denied.

Ruiz and Rashada’s attorney Mike Caspino have both spoken out on Monday denying the report about the alleged NIL deal. Jaden Rashada announced his commitment to Miami on Sunday. July 1 will be the one-year anniversary that allowed college athletes to earn money off of their own name, image and likeness.

Miami has been at the forefront of athletes signing NIL deals. Ruiz has reportedly signed 115 Miami athletes to deals totaling $7 million to represent his companies Cigarette Racing and Life Wallet. Rashada has an NIL evaluation of $492,000 per the On3.com NIL evaluation. Its seems like he will be worth much more than that.

The On3 consenus rankings have Rashada as the 42nd ranked player, seventh QB and four player in California in the Class of 2023. Rashada completed 57.1 percent of his passes for 2,220 yards, 27 touchdowns and five interceptions as a junior last season. Rashada explained how he chose Miami.

Miami built momentum for the commitment from Rashada when they hosted him for an official visit last week. Rashada made the decision late to take an official visit to Miami after previously visiting Florida, LSU, Mississippi and Texas A&M. Rashada trended for a Miami committment following his official visit.

Miami offensive coordinator Josh Gattis led the recruiting of Rashada for Miami. Rashada started recruiting other uncommited prospects via social media only a few hours after announcing his commitment to Miami. Miami currently has the 34th ranked 2023 class following the committment from Rashada.
