The Miami football program continues to trend for blue-chip prospects. Four-star cornerback Robert Stafford picked up three crystal balls from 247 Sports on Wednesday and is trending to Miami at 90.8 percent by the On3.Com prediction machine. Stafford would be the first defensive back to commit to Miami for 2023.

Three-star linebacker Bobby Washington is the only defensive player currently committed to the Miami football program for 2023. Stafford is the 163rd ranked player, 12th ranked athlete with the projection to play CB in college and 34th in Florida for 2023. Stafford tweeted on Wednesday that he is ready.

Andrew Ivins the 247Sports Southeast Recruiting Analyst, Inside the U writer Gaby Urrutia and Steve Wiltfong the 247 Sports Director of Football Recruiting all logged crystal balls on Wednesday and David Lake of Inside the U on Thursday that Stafford will commit to Miami. That went along with the prediction from On3.Com.

Miami is poised to move up significantly in the recruiting rankings in the next week. The Hurricanes have nine commits and the 31st-ranked recruiting class. Several Miami prospects are announcing their commitments within the next week. Stafford would be a great addition as Miami seeks to improve its blue-chip ratio for 2023.

Only three of the current Miami commits are four-star prospects. The blue-chip ratio for Miami should continue to improve. The majority of prospects leaning toward Miami are four or five-star prospects. Commitments from a few of those recruits could send the Miami 2023 class into the top 10.

Five-star edge rusher Jayden Wayne also received crystal balls today projecting he will commit to Miami. Four-star tight end Riley Williams is announcing his commitment on Friday and it’s expected to be to Miami. July projects to be a good month for the 2023 recruiting class for the Miami football program.
