Five-star 2023 wide receiver Jalen Brown who had been trending to the Miami football program has consensus projecting that he will commit to LSU on Friday. It was announced on Wednesday that Brown will make his commitment announcement on Friday at 6 p.m. ET throughout his social media channels.

The 247 Sports composite rankings have Brown as the 29th player, fourth WR and eighth in Florida in the Class of 2023. Losing Brown who is a Gulliver Prep star would be a blow to the 2023 recruiting class. Miami has built a lot of momentum in the past two weeks moving from the 40s to 10th in the 2023 recruiting rankings.

Brown previously trended to Miami with two crystal balls logged to the Hurricanes prior to Wednesday. Four crystal balls on Wednesday were logged for Brown to LSU. Two of those came from 247 Sports national recruiter experts Bud Elliott and Steve Wiltfong. On3 and Rivals are also projecting Brown to LSU.

Miami has four-star WRs Nathaniel Joseph and Robby Washington committed to the 2023 Class. The Miami staff has been on fire with five blue-chip commits since June 26. There are multiple factors in play for Brown at LSU. One factor is the recent lineage with the NFL first-round WRs produced.

Brown’s mother lives in Mississippi so that would provide her the opportunity to see him play closer to her. Brown was graded a 10 for his speed and eight for his hands and route-running. The upgrades Miami has made in facilities and recruiting were also noticed by Brown. Brown is currently the top-ranked uncommitted WR.

Miami is also strongly recruiting four-star WR Hykeem Williams of Fort Lauderdale Stranahan who is trending to Texas A&M. With over five months remaining to Early National Signing Day Mario Cristobal and the Miami football staff have plenty of time to secure another elite WR.
