Miami football players, fourth-year redshirt sophomore defensive end Jahfari Harvey, redshirt senior tight end Will Mallory and redshirt sophomore quarterback Tyler Van Dyke will join head coach Mario Cristobal at the ACC Kickoff media days in Charlotte next week. It will be the first appearance at ACC Kickoff for all four.

Cristobal is entering his inaugural season as the Miami head coach after four years at Oregon. Harvey will compete during training camp in August to be a starter. Mallory is entering his second consecutive year as a starter after backing up Brevin Jordan for three seasons. Van Dyke is entering his first full season as a starter.

Harvey had his best collegiate season in 2021 with 26 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception return for a touchdown and one pass breakup. Mallory leads Miami returnees with 30 receptions and four TDs and is second with 347 receiving yards. Van Dyke had a breakout season as a redshirt freshman in 2021.

Starting nine games, Van Dyke completed 62.3 percent of his passes for 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions to earn the ACC Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year. Van Dyke has frequently been mentioned among the top 10 2022 Heisman Trophy candidates.

Mallory and Van Dyke will work with new Miami offensive coordinator Josh Gattis who is also the Miami wide receivers coach. Van Dyke will also be tutored by new QB coach Frank Ponce. Rod Wright is the new Miami defensive ends coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame DE Jason Taylor is also on the Miami staff.
