The Miami Hurricanes were named the 10th best brand in college football in a survey by the technology company Official Visit tweeted by athlete brand consultant Jeremy Darlow. Official Visit surveyed the top 1,000 high school football players on brand strength and asked them to rank the college football programs.

The data findings were based on a four-year rolling average. Over the last four seasons, the Miami Hurricanes have a 28-18 record. Miami could be ready to move up the rankings as a college football brand with the implementation that athletes can secure their own name, image and likeness deals in July 2021.

Playing in the metropolitan area of one of the most global cities in the world, Miami Hurricanes have been at the forefront of NIL deals. Miami currently has the eighth-ranked recruiting class for 2023. Head coach Mario Cristobal was hired away from Oregon by Miami in December. Oregon is ninth in the college football brand rankings.

Proof of the Miami brand were the ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries The U and The U Part II. The U is one of the highest-rated 30 for 30s for ESPN. Miami will have a more business-like approach under Cristobal. Props Miami has used in past years will not be a part of the Cristobal tenure, at least row now.

"10. MIAMI HURRICANES“The U” is ready to wreak vengeance on the rest of college football under first-year head coach Mario Cristobal, who has already expanded Miami’s national brand and hopes to bring the Hurricanes back to prominence as a title contender.Miami’s NIL arm, driven by billionaire booster John Ruiz, is one of the nation’s most impressive in the early going of college football’s new era and the Hurricanes are making moves on the recruiting trail as a result. At the turn of the century, Miami’s brand was once again at its peak and even during the down years since, prep athletes know the Hurricanes used to be a football powerhouse.”"

Brad Crawford of 247 Sports gave the above analysis about the future of the Miami Hurricanes football brand. Miami can build its brand around quarterback Tyler Van Dyke in 2022. Van Dyke has been named on several award watch lists for the 2022 season. Winning the ACC Coastal would help Miami gain national attention.

Ruiz has reportedly signed 115 Miami athletes for $7 million with his companies Cigarette Racing and Life Wallet. Led by Ruiz, the Miami players can now help build the Miami Hurricanes brand while building one for themselves. Van Dyke has a chance to be a breakout star during the 2022 season.
