A report from On3 stated that five-star edge rusher Samuel M’Pemba will be at the cookout being held by the Miami football program on Saturday. On3 also reported that M’Pemba will be at Florida for their Friday Night Lights event a day before his trip to Coral Gables. M’Pemba tweeted on Friday he will be in Coral Gables on Saturday.

M’Pemba is ranked the 21st prospect, third edge rusher and fifth in Florida for 2023. Miami already has a commitment from Jayden Wayne, the sixth-ranked 2023 edge rusher. M’Pemba will play at IMG Academy with Miami commits five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, and four-stars Wayne and tight end Riley Williams.

Mauigoa has been recruiting M’Pemba. Florida and Miami were included among the top seven for M’Pemba earlier this year with  Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon and Tennessee. Georgia is the prohibitive favorite for a commitment from M’Pemba with a 75.9 percent chance for a commitment according to On3.

M’Pemba is an exceptional athlete that played defense and offense at Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis before transferring to IMG for the 2021 season. M’Pemba previously took an unofficial visit to the Miami football program in March according to 247 Sports. Miami is prioritizing the lines in recruiting.

Miami could build an elite and deep group of edge rushers for the future with a commitment from M’Pemba. The Hurricanes signed four-star edge rushers Nyjalik Kelly and Cyrus Moss in the Class of 2022. Wayne will join Kelly and Moss in 2023. The athleticism for M’Pemba gives him great versatility.
