According to several reports, five-star Oregon wide receiver commit Jurrion Dickey is visiting the Miami football program this weekend. Dickey is the 23rd ranked prospect, fourth wide receiver and fourth in California in the Class of 2023 per the On3 consensus rankings. Miami is holding a big barbeque for recruits this weekend.

Prospects across multiple classes will spend time in Coral Gables. Dickey would be an enormous flip for the Miami football program. Oregon received a commitment from Dickey on May 2. Dickey was offered a scholarship by Oregon last July per 247 Sports when Miami head coach Mario Cristobal led the Ducks program.

The sell for Cristobal and his staff will be to get Dickey to want to play on the other side of the country from his hometown of East Palo Alto, California. Offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa, quarterback Jaden Rashada, tight end Riley Williams and edge rusher Jayden Wayne are 2023 Miami commits from the West Coast.

Rashada’s hometown of Pittsburg is about 60 miles from East Palo Alto. Miami has commitments from four-star prospects, Nathaniel Joseph and Robby Washington at wide receiver. The Hurricanes are expected to want to sign three or four WRs in the Class of 2023. Dickey would be the second highest-ranked Miami commit.

Mauigoa is the only 2023 Miami commit higher-ranked than Dickey. Miami has not often signed two five-star commits in the same class. Dickey and Mauigoa would huge signees for Mario Cristobal in his first full class with Miami. Miami has not signed as WR as highly rated as Dickey since Jeff Thomas in 2017.

With Rashada added to 2021 signee Jake Garcia and 2022 signee Jacurri Brown, Miami has a bright future at QB that should attract elite WRs. Miami was able to gain the commitment from Joseph after he was previously committed to Clemson. Keeping Joseph and Washington home are critical for Cristobal and the Miami staff.
