The Hurricanes were included by On3 in their articleJuly Recruiting Winners: Alabama, Florida, Miami flex their muscles.”  The commitments gained by the Miami football program in July will set the foundation for the 2023 recruiting class. One five-star prospect, four four-stars and one three-star committed to Miami in July.

Miami is moving close to signing a top-five 2023 class. Mario Cristobal and his staff have made a huge impact for Miami in recruiting in less than eight months. Miami has 16 commitments in the Class of 2023. Seven of the Miami commits rank in the top 10 at their position according to the 247 Sports rankings.

Alabama, Florida, LSU and Oklahoma were the other programs mentioned as July recruiting winners by On3. The Miami football program made the list because of the level of players they signed. The Hurricanes had nearly half as many commits as some of the other four programs. Mario Cristobal has nailed the blue-chip ratio.

Nine of the 16 players committed to Miami are four or five-star prospects. Miami has commitments from a quarterback, offensive tackle, edge rusher, athlete and two linebackers who are ranked in the top 10 at their position. Miami has 11 players committed for 2023 who are projected to play offense and five on defense.

"MiamiOn3 Consensus Team Ranking: No. 6July Commitments: 6Avg. Rating Per Commit: 90.89The Skinny: July didn’t provide the quantity of commitments for Mario Cristobal and Co. that June did, but Miami made a major statement with some of its top targets. The biggest win for the ‘Canes came on July 4, when Miami beat out Alabama, USC, Oregon and a number of others for five-star offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, the No. 5 prospect in the On3 Consensus. The coup was arguably Cristobal’s biggest to date as a head coach, and if the Hurricanes can land five-star offensive tackle Samson Okunlola, would set them up with two massive cornerstones on the offensive line.Three days before that, Miami went into Portland and beat out Alabama and Oregon for four-star tight end Riley Williams, the No. 2 player at the position this cycle. His commitment was the culmination of nearly four years of work by Cristobal, dating back to his time at Oregon.A week later, the ‘Canes struck again in the PNW, adding Tacoma (Wash.) four-star EDGE Jayden Wayne, a top-5 player at that spot. The month closed with two more big-time commitments, this time in the Southeast.Cristobal and Co. held off a late push from Florida to land top-60 linebacker Malik Bryant, a day before beating the Gators again for massive offensive tackle Tommy Kinsler. If the month of July proved anything, it’s that there will be some monstrous recruiting battles in the Sunshine State over the next few months and years."

Mauigoa is the highest-rated 2023 Miami commit. Okunlola is currently trending to the Miami football program. If Miami can sign Mauigoa and Okunlola it would give them two of the top three OTs in the 2023 Class. Muaigoa, Wayne and Williams will all be teammates this year at IMG Academy in Bradenton.

Next. Miami has multiple top 10 2023 commits at their positions. dark

Cornerback Robert Stafford was the first blue-chip defensive commit for Miami in 2023. Since Stafford committed, Wayne and linebackers Raul Aguirre and Bryant have joined the 2023 Miami recruiting class. With over four months remaining until Early National Signing Day Miami is not finished with commitments from impact recruits.
