In his weekly column, Adam Gorney of Rivals said the Miami football program should be watched for five-star edge rusher Samuel M’Pemba. M’Pemba transferring from his home base in Missouri to IMG Academy in Bradenton could help Miami in his recruitment. Jayden Wayne is the only edge rusher committed to Miami for 2023.

Georgia and Notre Dame are the leaders for a commitment from M’Pemba according to Gorney. The Rivals Future Cast does not have a projection for which program is leading for a commitment from M’Pemba. Two projections from 247 Sports for M’Pemba are split between Georgia and the Miami football programs.

Steve Wiltfong the 247 National Director of Recruiting logged a crystal ball for M’Pemba to Georgia. On3 projects Georgia with an 83.2 percent chance for a commitment from M’Pemba. Miami will be challenged for a M’Pemba commitment. M’Pemba named the Miami football program as one of his top seven last month.

Defensive end coach Rod Wright is leading the recruitment for Miami of M’Pemba. Miami defensive backs coach Jahmile Addae could help Miami five M’Pemba insight into the differences between the Hurricanes and Georgia. Addae coached at Georgia last season before being hired by Mario Cristobal at Miami.

"“This still feels like a Georgia vs. Notre Dame battle with the Bulldogs holding a decently-sized advantage but I would definitely watch Miami here as well. Three Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy teammates are now committed to the Hurricanes and that influence could be significant especially if a prospect is not locked in with one school.Miami should be a program to watch especially after M’Pemba was there last weekend and Oregon is in this as well.”"

Miami commits, offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, Wayne, edge rusher Jayden Wayne and tight end Riley Williams will play with MPemba at IMG in 2022. Mauigoa has frequently openly recruited other 2023 prospects via social media since committing to Miami last month. M’Pemba and Wayne would be an elite tandem for 2023.

dark. Next. John Campbell or Jalen Rivers will start at left tackle

M’Pemba visited the Miami football program in March and July. Official visits by M’Pemba are scheduled for Georgia, Notre Dame and Oregon this fall. Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame and Oregon are the primary suitors for M’Pemba. With official visits lasting into November expect a later commitment date from M’Pemba.
